What we collect

Real Webcams is designed to minimise personal data collection:

Location search — postcodes and place names you search are sent to OpenStreetMap Nominatim for geocoding. We do not store these queries on our servers.
GPS — if you click “New Location”, your browser shares coordinates with our app only; we use them to find nearby cameras and do not persist them.
Server logs — our hosting may record standard web logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Theme preference — your Bootstrap theme choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage).

Third-party services

Camera data is fetched from external APIs and image hosts (Windy, TfL, National Highways media partners, etc.). When you view a feed, your browser may connect directly to those providers. Their privacy policies apply.

Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap. Geocoding uses Nominatim. Please refer to their respective policies.

If you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may collect device and usage data to show and measure footer ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies

With your consent, Google AdSense may set advertising cookies when you use the site. You can choose Essential only on our cookie banner to decline ad cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you may have rights to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold about you. Contact us below — we hold very little personal data by design.
